WHAT A SEASON !!!!!! by Clive Milton

The management team of Stuart Robertson, Colin Waterman and Clive Milton, would like to thank all the players, parents and helpers for what has been a "fantastic season" for the under 12's in the Avon Youth League.

At one point we were languishing near the bottom of the league, but a great run of form after Xmas has seen the team finish 5th in division 1 and a fine AYL cup run culminated with the trophy coming home to Yate. The whole team has excelled this year and really turned in great performances in some big games. The goals were shared around the team and the defence has  been really solid and improved a lot from last season. A settled side has helped tremendously and we are pleased to confirm that the same management team will take us into 2010 / 11.

AVON YOUTH LEAGUE CUP FINAL 25th April 2010

Warmley Rangers 0 - Yate Utd under 12's 2 - played at Cossham Street Mangotsfield

The Red Devils won the cup with fine goals from Connor Gould ( a fine turn and drive past the keeper off the underside of the crossbar ) and captain Harley Warren ( a trademark 35 yard piledriver freekick into the roof of the net ). The whole team played extremely well and were on form from the off in fine conditions and really showed how they have improved this season.
